As a jewellery photographer I serve clients all over the UK from my studio in Leeds and last week saw the Annual Awards of the British Institute of Professional Photography Yorkshire Region.
So I was pleased to receive the trophy for Yorkshire Advertising Photographer of the Year 2013 for a jewellery photograph created during a brochure commission for a client.
I was doubly pleased when the image was judged to be the best of the winning images in all Commercial categories to land the title of Yorkshire Region Commercial Photographer of the Year 2013 and a second trophy.
The image of the cornish silver bracelet, which was photographed and retouched entirely in-house and was printed 16″ x 12″ for competition, was commended for its impact and technical excellence.
Two other commissioned jewellery photographs I entered picked up Merit Awards in the Advertising category.
The British Institute of Professional Photography is an official qualifying body for professional photographers and as well as training and issuing qualifications, it promotes a professional code of conduct and has represented photographers nationally for over 100 years.
